Ordinary vacuums and even so called micro-filtration/triple filtration /or water vacuums do not remove sub-micron particles. Sub-micron particles are the ones that imbed themselves deeply into lung and bronchial tissue carrying with them bacteria, viruses, heavy metals and other contaminants responsible for ill health and chronic disease. The only way to capture these sub-micron particles is with a Sealed HEPA vacuum. A HEPA vacuum is only as good as the seal it uses. Most manufacturers put the filters on as an after- thought.

HEPA filters create back pressure that can force particles out the seams and spaces in the vacuum housing. The only way to make sure your getting clean, particle free air is with a sealed HEPA vacuum that has the filter after the motor.
ALL vacuums produce microscopic particles from the motor itself, to capture these particles the filter must be after the vacuum motor, in a sealed system.

A Note on BAGLESS vacuums: A popular vacuum touts itself as a HEPA Vacuum, but does not use Vacuum bags. This is a major flaw in the clean air process, primarily because once the see through canister is full with particles, it must be emptied; re-contaminating the surrounding area and the person emptying the canister. To protect yourself from the escaping particles you would need a respirator.
